There are many ways in which your school can get involved in supporting Befriend a Child. We love working with local schools to help them learn all about us, help to raise funds and raise our profile in the local community. Here are some ways that schools can get involved:
Befriend a Child are inviting local schools and nursery settings to take part in their MILES FOR SMILES SCHOOLS CHALLENGE during 2024.
Miles for Smiles offers a fun way to keep active whilst raising awareness of the work of Befriend a Child in local communities.

Select Befriend a Child as your YPI charity!
By representing us at your schools YPI you are not only potentially raising an incredible £3,000 to go towards the work that we do but you are also raising awareness about our programmes and projects and most importantly the difference that they make to the lives of the children and young people we support.
YPI is a powerful active citizenship programme designed for secondary schools which empowers young people to make a difference through engaging with local charities and exploring social issues that affect their community. The programme encourages young people to use their creativity and passion to make a difference in the community and includes a unique mix of teamwork, research, and healthy competition.
We have a strong track record of supporting school teams participating in YPI, helping them fulfil their potential. We would be delighted if school pupils chose to represent Befriend a Child for their YPI project. It would help raise awareness of the valuable work we do in the local community, while also giving us the chance of winning a £3,000 YPI Grant, providing kudos for the school and a sense of pride and achievement for the teams involved.
